Kitesurfing Hurghada

Kitesurfing is more than just a sport – it’s a lifestyle. Being out in nature, feeling the power of the wind, riding the waves and flying in the air is an experience that is hard to beat. This gives you a whole new feeling of weightlessness. It’s not just us, who are addicted to it – once you’ve tried it, you’ll be hooked! 

 

Spot and Lagoon

We traveled around the world from Switzerland and finally found an ideal place for all kitesurfing enthusiasts and one of the best spots in the world to learn kitesurfing in Hurghada (former Tommy Friedl Pro Kite School). Unlike many other spots, our huge knee-deep lagoon has always enough water for kitesurfing, regardless of the tide. Just 200 m after the lagoon you reach azure, deep water without obstacles: the perfect place also for Kitefoiling 🙂 The take-off and landing areas are right in front of the kite center, directly in the knee-deep training lagoon. The deep water area is not separated by a reef so that you can also get to foiling very quickly. 

 

Kite Center

Our kite center “Hurghadakite.com” is located directly on the beach of SUNRISE Alma Bay Resort Hotel and you can start kiting “from bed to board” literally 10m from the center! Our Kitecenter has a compressor, a training room, a kite area, a windsurfing area, separate storage rooms and lockers. There is also a shower and changing room, 4 toilets, a kite store, a bar with fresh juices and a large Bedouin tent for chilling out with coffee and shisha. Hotel guests enjoy all-inclusive service in the center and for external guests we offer bottled water, soft drinks and quick delivery of pizza/burgers/snacks from the neighboring restaurant. 

 

Competent instructors

For over 14 years, we have trained hundreds of students to become independent kiters in our kite school at the Titanic Beach Hotel in Hurghada, which we moved to the always watery lagoon of the Sunrise Alma Bay Resort Hotel in October 2023. The IKO Level 2 certified kite instructor SAYED and his team of competent instructors will teach you all the secrets of kitesurfing in a short time with enthusiasm and great passion. Our instructors speak Arabic, German, English or Russian. 

 

Equipment

We only use high-quality DUOTONE KITES in all sizes from 5m² to 17m² for training. After the course, you can borrow kite equipment and kite independently or under supervision. You can choose between current freestyle and freeride DUOTONE AND NORTH BOARDS, several FOIL BOARDS and Harnesses, Wetsuits, Impact vests, helmets and shoes in all sizes. Book in advance and you will always have the right equipment, even if you have to change several times a day.  For your own kite equipment we offer a STORAGE ROOMS and the lockers. 

Wind Hurghada

Hurghada is one of the top kitesurfing spots worldwide. The wind blows here almost all year round. Our spot has predominant sideshore winds from North and North-West, which is perfect for the beginners, because the wind bring you always to the beach and not in the opposite direction. You can get the most out of the kitesurfing if you travel for two weeks. During high season, Hurghada can get crowded.


Kite Foiling

The great kite alternative which allows you to sail in very light wind condition. KiteFoil is a magical discipline that gives you the thrill and feeling of freedom while flying over the water! Let us introduce you to this fascinating sport in individual lessons. Only for experienced kiters.

 

Windsurf & alternatives

We also offer an introduction to windsurfing. Under the supervision of instructors and in the safety of the lagoon, you can learn the basics of windsurfing in just a few hours and with a lot of fun. After the Windsurf course you can also hire windsurf equipment (limited quantity) from us and surf independently or under supervision.  For the time between your kite sessions, you can hire a stand-up paddle or a catamaran and explore the sea with your companion or family. There is also a professional diving center (Jasmin Diving Sport Center) right on the hotel beach.

SUNRISE Alma Bay Resort

Our KITE-SCHOOL is integrated into the SUNRISE Alma Bay Resort 4* hotel in Hurghada. If you choose this modern hotel, you can enjoy the all-inclusive service in the kite center and literally kite from bed to board without wasting any time. The comfortable hotel with 226 rooms (mostly with sea view) is located on a natural, windy bay known for its quiet, pristine,  white and windy beach. The rooms are divided into 2-storey bungalows. You can relax on the hotel’s beach or in one of the spectacular heated swimming pools. The resort offers also a Jacuzzi, a spa center and a professional diving center in the hotel for days with low wind. This spot is also a perfect family vacation destination with the kids’ club and integrated water park, which make the vacation unforgettable for the little ones too!

 

External guests

You can also reach our kite center at Sunrise Alma Bay Resort Hotel daily from any other hotel in Hurghada by UBER (very cheap and convenient in Hurghada) or taxi. To get into the hotel, all you need to do is present a passport or a copy of your passport at the reception. When you book a kitesurfing course with us, we offer you a free pick-up service from and to any location in Hurghada.

Incredible rescue, more than 5 stars!

Sayed, the manager of the center attaches great importance to order and cleanliness of the spot and was very accommodating! After the incredible rescue, they repaired my kite directly on site, free of charge. I can therefore highly recommend the school and the spot! The Duotone equipment looked very good and well maintained. All in all, the spot certainly deserves more than the maximum 5 stars and is also perfect for beginners and courses due to the lagoon!
